Dilemma

As a daughter, I always knew I’ll be leaving your home
There’ll be a new place waiting for me, a new road to roam.

I spent all my moments in your home from morning to night,
Please don’t send me anywhere and keep me with you safe and tight.

It’s not easy for both of us to let me go and leave,
Why are you faking your happiness, when I know silently you’ll also grieve.

Now I’ll be going to a new place starting a new life,
Your daughter has become somebody’s daughter-in-law and someone’s wife.

I have my own fears going to the new place,
Your teachings will help me to handle all those fears with grace.

I know I am leaving your place today,
But trust me, you’ll be missed every day.

I love you with all my heart,
And this meagre distance will not make us apart.

All I wish is if daughters can just stay with their parents forever,
But the dilemma is who’ll be creating new families, so the thought is all haver.
